The Commissioner for Fair Access, Professor John McKendrick, has published his latest independent report, Higher education – renewing the alliance for fair access. The sixth annual report by the Commissioner concludes that much has already been achieved in delivering fair access to higher education and considers how the framework for promoting fair access can be strengthened.

Commenting on the report, Shona Struthers, Chief Executive of Colleges Scotland, said:

“This is very thoughtful report and welcome as we all work towards fair access in the tertiary sector. Specifically for colleges, Professor McKendrick has drawn a clear road map for gaining a better understanding of the prospects for increasing the proportion of students articulating with Advanced Standing from college to university, with their prior learning counting towards their next level of study. Colleges Scotland will wholeheartedly support this next step.”
