Comment on SFC College Leaver Destinations Report

Today the Scottish Funding Council has published the annual College Leaver Destinations report, for the academic year 2021-22. The publication provides information on the destinations of successful full-time college leavers in Scotland.

During the academic year 2021/22 the cost-of-living crisis and public health measures during the pandemic impacted college students and colleges as organisations.

Commenting on the report, Shona Struthers, Chief Executive of Colleges Scotland, said: “Last year this report recorded record numbers of students moving into positive destinations, and the sector picture now shows colleges returning to pre-pandemic levels around completions, which is to be expected.

“I’m pleased that the report clearly acknowledges how resilient and flexible colleges were during this period where social distancing and other public health measures were in place in classrooms, workshops and studios. Despite these challenges, colleges were able to support students with a hybrid learning approach to help thousands of learners get their qualification and move into work or further study.”
