Comment on the Muir Report
Shona Struthers, Chief Executive of Colleges Scotland said:
“In our original submission to Holyrood we emphasised the need for a change in culture as well as in structure. Until more details of exactly what responsibilities and approach the new agencies will have it is impossible to say whether the plans will deliver all that our students and employers expect and demand. There should be the utmost confidence in the qualifications processes of the future, with awards recognised as being meaningful, appropriate, and transparently and deservedly earned, whilst also testing learners in a meaningful way.
“Colleges Scotland looks forward to working with ministers in the coming months and to taking part in the Education Secretary’s “national conversation” and to contributing to the delivery of the world-class qualifications system which our students and the wider economy deserve."
