Comment on College Student Outcomes

Commenting on the latest College Student Outcomes Report published by the Scottish Funding Council today (Tuesday 1 July 2025), a spokesperson for Colleges Scotland, said:

“The publication today shows some really interesting trends for colleges to understand in terms of changing patterns of student behaviour and patterns of learning.

"The reasons why students chose or were unable to complete their course are detailed where known in the report, but clearly health reasons, finance, and caring responsibilities impacted some students. Colleges work hard to offer appropriate support to students who need holistic help to make the most of the opportunity of coming to college.

"Colleges will look carefully at the completion rates achieved by care-experienced students, where there is still more to do. There is a national ambition to "increase the number of care-experienced learners enrolling and successfully completing at college” and colleges are fully committed to helping learners achieve their goals."
