Scots Selected for “Skills Olympics” in Lyon
A video games specialist, an engineer, and a renewable energy apprentice are among the four young Scots who have been selected for Team UK and will compete in the ‘Skills Olympics’ later this year.
All aged under 25, the four will compete in the WorldSkills 2024 Competition in Lyon, France from 10-15 September.
City of Glasgow College students Finley Graham and Yasmin George along with New College Lanarkshire Student Nathan Young and UHI Moray apprentice Danny McBean will represent Team UK in the event having already triumphed in the national finals. They will be competing in:
3D Digital Game Art – Yasmin George
IT Network Systems Administration – Finley Graham
Mechanical Engineering CAD – Nathan Young
Renewable Energy – Danny McBean.
More than 1,500 competitors from 65 countries will battle it out in 62 different skills during the WorldSkills event.
Representatives from all four UK nations are vying with peers from around the world in the 47th WorldSkills competition to be crowned the world’s best in their discipline.
