Yekemi is an award-winning entrepreneur and Chief Executive at Somebody Cares SCIO, an Aberdeen-based charity that supports over 13,000 people annually. In 2021, she was appointed the Chancellor of the University of the West of Scotland, making history as the first black woman to take up the role at a Scottish university. As an entrepreneur and leader, she has won several awards including Services Industry Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards in 2023 and Woman of the Year - Outstanding Achievement at the 6th Scottish Women Awards in 2025. Yekemi is a mentor, speaker and champion for education, entrepreneurship and social impact in Scotland.
