Audrey Cumberford MBE
Vice Chair of College Principals' Group and Principal and Chief Executive, Edinburgh College
Having graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Education, Audrey moved to Bristol University to take up a two year Graduate Assistant Lecturer post, undertaking research within the field of sports psychology. Following this, she left the higher education sector and moved into private industry where she held a number of roles within the pharmaceutical and product design industries, specialising in marketing.
After seven years she returned to education, taking up her first management role within the College sector at Edinburgh's Telford College. Audrey is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
In 1999, Audrey moved to a senior management position at Reid Kerr College in Paisley, and was promoted to the post of Vice-Principal in January 2005. In January 2011 Audrey became Principal and Chief Executive of Reid Kerr College before being appointed as Principal of West College Scotland, formally taking up post on 1 August 2013. On 3 September 2018 Audrey took up the post of Principal and Chief Executive of Edinburgh College. Audrey is the President of Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Scottish Funding Council and of Colleges Scotland Board.
