We have exciting secondment opportunities within Colleges Scotland and we would like to invite interest from colleagues across the college sector.
Employment Services Team
The Job Evaluation Project is entering the second phase of analysing job roles of support staff across the sector. The Employment Services Team is seeking an individual to take this forward and to lead on the implementation of the outcomes of the job evaluation exercise within the context of the development of a sector Pay and Rewards Strategy.
The postholder will drive forward the Pay and Rewards agenda, working within Colleges Scotland and with the wider sector: this will include participating in, and influencing, negotiations with the trade unions.
As part of the role, the postholder will be expected to coordinate and collate pay and equality data, and undertake data analysis for the purposes of supporting the development of the pay strategy and the wider National Bargaining agenda. In addition, the postholder will lead and manage working groups to develop proposals for an appropriate pay system to implement the outcomes of job evaluation.
This secondment opportunity is being offered on either a full-time or part-time basis up to July 2021. It is anticipated that the commencement date will be early 2020. The postholder will be based in Stirling, although travel to other locations will also be required from time to time.
If you are interested in this opportunity and would like further information, please contact:
Heather Stevenson, Director of Employment Services, email Heather Stevenson or 07801 887 820.
Formal applications should be made by emailing Heather with a one-page document detailing your relevant skills and experience. The deadline has been extended to Friday 13 December 2019.
The Policy Team is seeking a one-year secondment for a Senior Policy Officer and/or Policy Officer. These will provide a significant opportunity for the right individual(s) to make a positive impact at a national level for college learners, and the wider community and economy through working with members and stakeholders to identify and influence policy issues, as well as develop and manage policy activities, projects and campaigns.
This is a critical time for colleges, and the postholder will be involved in helping shape the college sector through the development of key work areas including:
- the implementation of the Learner Journey Review and the Student Support Review
- the recently published Future Skills Action Plan and the work of the Enterprise and Skills Strategic Board
- numerous policy areas including Adult Learning, Mental Health and Wellbeing, and Brexit.
The successful candidate(s) will be expected to be in a position to contribute positively from the start of the secondment period, and will be required to have sufficient knowledge of the college sector.
These secondment opportunities are offered on either a full-time or part-time basis for 12 months, starting in early 2020. The postholder will be located in Stirling although travel to other locations would also be required from time to time.
